Kelsey and Jake’s Charlottesville Wedding

Our Past Weddings

Kelsey and Jake’s stunning Charlottesville wedding at Early Mountain Vineyards this spring had everyone in awe of the day. I began working with Kelsey and Jake seven months prior to their wedding day in a partial wedding planning service and I immediately fell in love with her vision. We spent the following months working on the design base for her to use when speaking with her creative vendors to ensure a cohesive design from start to finish, and then later focusing on all the logistic details that made their wedding day a success!

Charlottesville Wedding Bride and Groom

When we began working on their wedding day, Kelsey and I immediately took a focus on their general design concept and I fell in love with her vision! Kelsey’s mother was a florist so she wanted the design to be heavily floral based and full of bright spring colors. With Early Mountain Vineyards being their stunning choice in venue for a Charlottesville wedding, we decided to take a french countryside and wildflower approach to the color palette, atmosphere, and design.

Creating this general design concept had Kelsey excited and ready to tackle her creative vendor search. After lots of discussion and a heavily pointed hand from our personal Sincerely Jane Events preferred vendor list in Charlottesville (and a little “we over me” vendor help from Alana at Lane Stewart Events), we created an all-star vendor team!

The Wedding Day

The wedding day itself could not have been more perfect! The girls had a reasonable start to the morning at 9am with har and makeup, and the Sincerely Jane team started off strong with our traditional pre wedding breakfast and extra large coffee to really get the juices flowing.

By the time setup was complete, it was time to get our sweet bride and groom ready for their first look. With champagne glasses in hand we got Kelsey and Chloe, her fabulous maid of honor, over to the cottage on site to get dressed as we headed back to the main building to get Jake. When I tell you the energy of these two giggling and carrying on was infectious it almost feels like an understatement!

For their first look, Kelsey and Jake wanted to have the beautiful hillside and venue in their backdrop, and for the event to be private which means just myself as their wedding planner, the photographer, and her maid of honor were present. We had Jake positioned with his back to the cottage, and had Kelsey walking up to him for the sweetest first look and bridal portrait session!

Once our pre ceremony portrait session was over it was time for these two to rejoin their bridal party while we finished overseeing the days setup, and ooing and awing over some of the details as they came together!

Kelsey and Jake had their ceremony on the gorgeous lawn adjacent to the main building at Early Mountain Vineyards, and in the crisp March air, we could not have asked for a better backdrop. Now, time and time again you’ll hear me say “it’s the couple that makes the wedding,” and these two proved it! Their ceremony started off with some laughs conjured up by our “beer man” who absolutely crushed his role, and then from the love and carefully crafted ceremony itself. Seeing Kelsey and Jake share so much joy in this moment was the best gift a wedding planner could ask for!

Once these two were married we were off to the celebration! Our reception space was where we placed a large amount of what I like to call “high touch design points” for their guests. Sometimes these elements are interactive, and some are meant to make a space really feel like the couple is being expressed through every design element.

Now remember, Kelsey loves flowers and florals were the main focal point of the design from an aesthetic and budget standpoint. Steel Cut Flower Co. did not disappoint!

We had a massive statement piece created that cascaded up the grand fireplace at the end of the ballroom, guest tables were decked out in brightly colored spring florals, soft blue taper candles, and a tablescape to pull everything together.

From grand introductions, to first dances, cake cutting, a private last dance, and a sparkler sendoff these two sure knew how to party the night away with a large group of family and friends! For our first Charlottesville wedding of 2023, we couldn’t have been happier!

To Kelsey and Jake,

I’ve told you guys time and time again I absolutely loved working with you guys, and the energy you brought to planning! Thank you for always trusting me to take the lead and being so cognizant of our “homework” throughout the planning process. You two truly were incredible to work with and such a pleasure to get to know. I truly enjoyed every moment of your wedding day, and felt my heart soar with excitement every time you both laughed and erupted with joy from the moments of the day.

It was incredible!

Here for you always,

Amanda
